3devo expands operations for desktop filament extrusion and plastic recycling solutions to the U.S.
3devo, a Netherlands-based desktop-extrusion company, has today announced its expansion into the U.S. in response to the growing global success of its desktop filament extrusion and plastic recycling solutions for the 3D printing market.
The Utrecht company has cut the ribbon on its first office in Claymont, Delaware, in a bid to improve logistics for overseas clients and speed up lead times for deliveries throughout North America. The expansion forms part of 3devo’s wider vision to make its material development technologies accessible to end users across the globe and pave the way for what the company’s CEO Tim Wesselink believes will be “immense growth”.
“From the very start it was clear to us that the additive manufacturing marketing is an international market by default,” Wesselink said. “The demand from the North American market has always been strong, and North America has played an important role in establishing and developing AM in general. But despite the international character of the AM market, borders very are noticeable in conducting business, making products available easier and quicker, having less importation hassle and being able to provide quicker service. Because of this it was the logical next step for us to set up our first foreign office in the USA to improve our ability to answer the North American product demand and create a better overall experience for our customers.”
Founded in 2016 following a successful Kickstarter campaign inspired by the then burgeoning desktop 3D printing market and the introduction of its first desktop filament extruder, 3devo’s products now span a range of filament makers, plastic processors and most recently, a dryer for polymer materials.
Back in Europe, 3devo will be exhibiting at Formnext in Frankfurt on 19-22 November on booth 12.1, E118.
