3YOURMIND launches Digital AM Inventory module
Additive manufacturing software specialist 3YOURMIND has launched its Digital AM Inventory module which will allow users to centralise their digital inventory of AM-ready parts and production data.
This extension to 3YOURMIND’s workflow software is said to be an “important step towards distributed manufacturing” and will save costs compared to physical inventories by allowing organisations to move into part production with a single click.
The Berlin-based company is said to have worked with early adopters such as Volkswagen, GKN, EOS and Continental to develop its AM software. In the last 12 months, the company has seen substantial growth in the number of orders processed by customers and found there was a clear demand for the centralisation of AM files and data into a single, searchable database.
The new Digital AM Inventory focuses on file management, storage of part specifications and production requirements, visibility of 3D model versioning, and repeat ordering with saved material and technology selections.
3YOURMIND has been building on its software workflow solutions since 2015. In 2017, the company launched an Inventory Analysis module for its AM Part Identifier software which helps users to find strong use cases for AM from existing part data. Last year, the Use Case Screening module was added to validate new ideas for AM parts and was successfully implemented by Deutsche Bahn for cataloguing replacement parts.
This latest tool allows companies to automate the movement of parts from their order management software directly into a digital inventory to be saved for future production. The AM inventory can also be directly filled with parts by AM experts and design engineers to give a one-click ordering system that includes production requirements, technology and material selection.
