AICON high-performance measuring adapters
AICON has unveiled its new high-performance measuring adapters for measuring geometric features such as corners, surface points, holes and edges.
Made in Braunschweig, Germany, the dice-like devices have been patented, with AICON Patent appearing in clear lettering on every adapter.
The adapters are applied for 3D coordinate measurements with a handheld digital camera, as for example the AICON measurement system DPA.
In such a measurement, numerous photos of the object in question are captured from a range of different directions. These images are then automatically analysed and, as a result, the user get processable 3D data which is accurate down to the micrometer.
Typical fields of application for the AICON measuring adapters include inspection, deformation measurement, referencing of 3D scanners and component alignment. The devised signalise the required measuring points on objects.
Users of the DPA system rely on AICON's measuring adapters for their high precision and user-independence. They can be measured from all directions, without manual alignment as with other manufacturers.
Moreover, they include many different interfaces to the measured geometries and a fully automatic identification.
The adapters are quickly usable and very robust. The measurement is highly reliable even in production environments where there may be dust and vibrations.
