Aleph Objects reports another successful quarter.
You would be forgiven for thinking the consumer end of the 3D printing market is on somewhat of a downward spiral. With high profile companies like 3D Systems discontinuing its Cube line and closing down its consumer marketplace and MakerBot laying off 20% of it’s staff, not once but twice, confidence in the desktop sector isn’t exactly at an all time high. However there is one company that continues to report success after success in the desktop space and and that’s Aleph Objects, makers of the popular LulzBot 3D printer line.
The Colorado-based company has just announced its second successful quarter and six months 2016 financial results and reports revenue of $5.8 million (US), recording four consecutive profitable quarters. The second quarter 2016 represents an 83% improvement in year-over-year revenue compared with second quarter 2015. Year-to-date 2016, results reveal company has achieved profitable performance on revenue of $10.5 million.
The success was driven by strong performance across the company's entire line of products, including its open-source desktop TAZ 3D printers, accessories and materials. Aleph Objects has carried out its own internal surveys with suggest that there is strong growth in personal and professional use of desktop 3D printing with an overwhelming 98%+ of customers saying they would recommend LulzBot products.

This year the company has released several new products into the marketplace from machines to materials. Back in January it launched the LulzBot TAZ Dual Extruder Tool Head v2 and the FlexyDually Tool Head v2 and an update to its own Cura software. The company has also released new materials through partnerships with companies like colorFabb and Eastman Chemical Company and Proto-pasta makers ProtoPlant. Most recently Aleph launched the re-engineered LulzBot TAZ 6 desktop 3D printer at RAPID 2016 designed for everyone from beginners to advanced users.
