The Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG) today announced that this year’s meeting will feature a “fireside chat” with Chuck Hull, the inventor of stereolithography and 3D Systems’ executive vice president and chief technology officer.

The event, taking place on April 19 – 23, 2015, in Jacksonville, Florida, will include over 200 presentations and hands on workshops with Hull’s exchange being a major highlight of the four-day conference agenda.
Recent National Inventors Hall of Fame recipient Hull will be interviewed during the conference’s Innovators Showcase on Wednesday, April 22nd starting with the origins of the technology and how he overcame challenges as an innovator.
“We are ecstatic that Chuck Hull has agreed to join us for the first-ever Innovators Showcase,” Mark Barfoot, AMUG president, said. “With the rapid expansion of the industry, few would have an opportunity to hear what’s on the mind of the father of stereolithography.”
Designed for both novice and experienced additive manufacturing users, the 27th annual conference agenda covers a range of topics from technology basics to advanced applications to business considerations.
With up to 12 concurrent sessions each day, attendees will have a broad selection of topics from which to choose. There will also be a wide range of hands-on workshops for applications such as post processing, hydrographic printing, urethane moulding and metal casting whilst SME will offer its Additive Manufacturing Certificate Program.
The AMUG conference will also feature its annual Technical Competition with awards for exemplary applications of additive manufacturing and superior part finishing. The competition provides a forum for users of additive manufacturing technologies to display their prowess with the technology.
Last week the AMUG launched its scholarship application process for students and educators in the field of additive manufacturing and 3D printing to gain a place at the leading AM event.
