In response to the rapid increase in demand for 3D printing services, Midlands based 3D scanning and printing company Central Scanning has invested in two 3D printing machines to complement its existing capacity.
The 3D scanning and reverse engineering specialist has installed the Mojo FDM Printer enabling the company to offer 3D printing in a variety of different colours and P430 materials, including nectarine, olive green and ivory. Built for simplicity, the Mojo provides fast print speeds and accuracy at a competitive low cost.
The second addition to its arsenal is the Fortus 400MC Printer, capable of building high resolution, durable models up to 14 x 10 x 10 inches at an accuracy within 0.0015 of an inch. Reducing the need for costly tooling, the machine is suitable for production of jigs and fixtures and checking gauges.

The Fortus 400MC, coupled with Insight processing software, allows the quick manufacture of parts that match the mechanical, thermal, aesthetic and resolution needs required. The machine is capable of manufacturing parts with complex geometries that are strong enough not only for functional testing, but end use as well and can endure high heat, caustic chemicals, sterilisation and high impact applications.
The two new printers are to be installed alongside the current FDM Prodigy plus and Objet Eden 500V printers at Central Scanning’s main headquarters in Bromsgrove.
