Creaform ribbon cutting new facility
Martin Lamontagne, Creaform’s founder and Business Unit Manager, cuts the ribbon to mark the official opening of the company's new headquarters.
Creaform, a leading company in the 3D measurement solutions market, has announced the opening of its new factory headquarters at Innoparc Levis in Levis, Quebec.
The company marked the opening of the facility with the gathering of key partners and customers at a ribbon cutting ceremony. Spanning 76,000-square-foot, Creaform believes the new facility will play a crucial role in its growth strategy over the next few years. It is the result of a $20m investment and triples production capacity and doubles the space available for the company’s growing workforce. The factory will be the new home to R&D, manufacturing and assembly, engineering services, and administrative operations, as well as a select number of the sales and support team.
In operation since November 20th, there was a brief pause in operations to celebrate the landmark move for Creaform as the company seeks to create a suitable environment for its planned growth which will see around 150 jobs created.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the new facility,” said Martin Lamontagne, Creaform’s founder and Business Unit Manager. “Our aim is to double sales and significantly expand our workforce over the next five years. Adding space and production capacity was an essential step on the road to that goal. The new headquarters will also provide a home base for our international employees and the growing number of clients who come to us for product training.”
While the factory headquarters has the primary function to facilitate growth in the coming years, Creaform wanted to reduce its environmental footprint. Its partners incorporated green building techniques which achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, a system devised by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) to evaluate the environmental performances of buildings.
“I tip my hat to our project partners, the team at Coarchitecture and the people at Ronam Construction,” Lamontagne added. “The helped us obtain LEED certification with features like abundant natural light throughout the building, passive solar water heating, high efficiency mechanical systems, and a site-friendly location near bike paths and walking trails. Our employees love it.”
