Delcam PowerMILL
Fresh data from the NC Software Market Analysis Report from leading US analyst CIMdata has singled out Delcam as the world's largest specialist in CAM software and services.
The Birmingham-headquartered company employs more than 700 staff, which is head and shoulders more than rivals Vero Software and more than twice those on the payroll and Cimatron. Moreover, Delcam's Joint Venture companies in Europe and Asia employ a further 100 people - the largest of these being Delcam's thriving Korean venture Hankook Delcam, which has a staff of 50.
Delcam's growth in 2013 resulted in the recruitment of 50 extra staff to its international workforce.
CIMdata's findings confirmed Delcam continues to employ the largest development team in the CAM software sector, with 224 people working on the company's manufacturing software. This is almost twice as many developers than Vero Software's 150-strong development team.
When casting an eye to sales, Delcam succeeded in raising its market share in terms of direct revenue. Delcam's share of vendor direct revenue increased from 7.3 per cent in 2012 to 7.7 per cent last year, while a further market share rally is anticipated to top 8.1 per cent in 2014.
Delcam’s PowerMILL suite of software was reported by CIMdata to remain its best-selling specialist machining brand by direct revenue.
This year is set to be another important year for Delcam after Autodesk completed its acquisition of the company on February 6th. Delcam now operates as a wholly-owned, independently-operated subsidiary of Autodesk.
