Prodways has announced its partner, Dreve, has installed two new ProMaker L5000 D dental 3D printing platforms, taking its total fleet of MOVINGLight machines to 13.
The pair have been working together for four years, Dreve leveraging Prodways’ 3D printing technology to develop high quality dental models from its facilities in Eden Prairie and University of Kentucky in the USA. These models include implant guides for dentures and orthodontic pieces.
Dreve sought to take on 3D printing technology after projecting a surge in demand for dental models as their production moves towards digitisation. And Prodways MOVINGLight technology was selected because Dreve believes it is of the highest quality, and the business behind it is too.
“We decided to launch our own production for high-quality dental models using Prodways MOVINGLight 3D printer four years ago,” said Dr Volker Dreve, CEO of Dreve. “We have chosen these printers as they are more precise and more accurate than other market ranges and highly reliable. Our decision to go on with Prodways printers is driven by Prodways’ constant quality for dental production.”
After the installation of the two new machines, Dreve carried out some accuracy tests. The results showed 95% data points within 32µ on dental model production. It indicates a continuity from the performance of the Prodways machines the company had already installed. Dreve says these printers had delivered ‘ultra-high accuracy and superior surface quality’ and ‘maximum productivity and unparalleled speed’. Both parties believe that with this latest extension of the partnership, they can work together to open new routes for the highly specialised dental production.
