Eurocoating SpA, a leader in Plasma Spray Coating and additive manufacturing (AM) services for orthopaedic, dental, spine, and trauma applications, has announced the acquisition of Nanosurfaces Industries Srl, the Italian manufacturing division of CoorsTek Medical.
“This acquisition brings to Eurocoating additional high-tech manufacturing capabilities and innovative advanced surface treatments, completing its already wide array of services and supporting Eurcocoating’s strategy to consolidate its position as a key global partner to the Orthopedic OEMs,” Nelso Antolotti, President and founder of the Unitedcoatings Group said.
“We aim at building a “one stop shop” concept in the area of additive manufacturing arts for the medical industry, which should significantly reduce the supply chain complexity for our customers. Nanosurfaces provides us the know how in the special machining segment that we were looking for to complete this business model to the industry”.
Nanosurfaces was founded in 2013 as a spin-off of the manufacturing operations of an orthopaedic OEM and acquired by CoorsTek Medical, a manufacturing partner for medical device providers worldwide, in 2014. The company offers design and manufacturing services to OEMs supporting them with machining, finishing, coating and sterile packaging services, providing solutions for both implants and instruments.
