The 3D printing company, which is an international provider of 3D printing machines and printed products to industrial customers, announced yesterday (March 20th) that its production service centre in Houston, Texas, has been certified as ISO 9001:2008 compliant by DAS Certification as an Industrial Additive Manufacturer.
The ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) standard certifies that the production and output at the Houston facility meets specification requirements for its quality management system.
The ISO 9001:2008 is based on eight quality management principles including a strong customer focus, commitment of top management, a process approach and continual improvement.
Receiving the ISO 9001:2008 certification helps to ensure that ExOne's customers receive consistently high-quality products and services. To achieve the certification, ExOne had to demonstrate its consistent ability to provide products that meet customer and applicable statutory/regulatory requirements, while enhancing customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement and the assurance of conformity to customer and statutory/regulatory requirements.
"Achieving ISO certification demonstrates ExOne's commitment to our customers, and provides further reassurance that our printed molds and cores are of the highest quality possible," said Leo Dobitz, General Manager of ExOne's Houston production service center.
"The ISO certification process is rigorous and disciplined so for our operations to complete them is both an honor and testament to ExOne," he added.
ISO is the world's largest developer of voluntary international standards. The ISO 9001:2008 establishes the criteria for a quality management system and is implemented by more than one million companies and organisations in more than 170 countries.
