GOM Software 2019 was developed in-line with customer requirements and industry-specific applications.
3D coordinate metrology leader GOM has released its latest software package including new features for inspection and motion analysis designed to optimise production processes.
According to a recent announcement, GOM says GOM Software 2019 was developed in-line with customer requirements and industry-specific applications.
In the virtual measuring room (VMR), a new “Smart Teach” function supports users in automated measurement, delivering automatic updates when changes are made in the CAD data.
Another highlight is Virtual Clamping, a world first that virtually simulates the clamping of parts using data from the real part in free state. The measuring data obtained by FEM-based calculations are exactly comparable with the results of the part when clamped physically.
Furthermore, the analysis of surface defects has been improved in the ATOS Professional, GOM Inspect and GOM Inspect Professional software packages. Sheet metal and plastic parts, for example, can now be checked against a master part to identify surface defects more easily. The company is now offering trial licenses to demonstrate the new features of GOM Inspect Professional to current users of free GOM Inspect software.
A new online training centre has also been established to help users to better understand the software and new eLearning courses have been created to allow users to participate in advanced training to supplement classroom seminars. Users will be able to access tutorials and sample data sets for the current software version. The platform is said to supplement GOM's existing, comprehensive range of training courses and learning methods.
