LISP
ZWCAD Design, an innovative supplier of CAD solution to the AEC and MCAD industries, today officially announced that LISP applications on ZWCAD+ now run 8 times faster on average when compared with ZWCAD 2012, dramatically increasing user’s drafting efficiency.
“LISP is one of the most commonly used programming languages for CAD application development today. Millions of designers rely on LISP applications to increase their work efficiency,” stated Bool He, Director of ZWCAD+ R&D Center. “So the faster the LISP routine runs, the higher design efficiency CAD users will have. That’s exactly the reason why we spare no effort in improving the speed of LISP routines. In ZWCAD+, the speed of LISP applications increases by 6 to 8 times compared with ZWCAD 2012. In some cases, the speed even gets 15 to 20 times faster. ”
The improvement of the ported applications running speed, won praises from some key accounts invited to a closed test of ZWCAD+. One sculpture manufacturer from this test group ran a ported application, which was programmed to help quickly detect breakpoints in a sculpture drawing. To his surprise, with the same drawing and computer configuration, running that application on ZWCAD+ is superbly faster than on ZWCAD 2012. The time needed to finish detection was 17 seconds with ZWCAD 2012. While with ZWCAD+, it took less than one second. “The test number speaks volumes of the great improvement.” one staff member from this sculpture manufacturer commented. “Having witnessed the LISP speed improvement, together with other astounding breakthroughs of ZWCAD+, we are eager to see the official release.”
As a matter of fact, the breakthrough of the LISP speed on ZWCAD+ stems from the great improvement of its API quality, which enables more add-ons to easily port onto ZWCAD+ and run much faster than ever before. The enhanced APIs on ZWCAD+ open up all kinds of possibilities for user’s design experience.
