Concept Laser Mlab LaserCUSING system.
The UK’s longest established rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing bureau LPE (Laser Prototypes Europe) has announced its recent installation of the Concept Laser Mlab LaserCUSING system for metal sintering.
The addition will bring fast and accurate direct production of high-resolution metal components, an ideal manufacturing solution for cost effective production of prototypes for high temperature parts, medical and dental and complex aerospace components.
Comparable to good investment cast parts and with the mechanical properties equivalent to cast or machined components, metal sintering can eliminate the time and financial costs associated with conventional tooling.
“We brought this technology on to satisfy a growing demand within the market- our customers were asking, and we listened,” Tom Walls, Managing Director. “Metal sintering is the next big step forward for Rapid Prototyping, and LPE are proud to stand at the forefront with this technology.”
With the Concept Laser Mlab metals system the company can now offer parts produced directly in stainless steel or aluminium in a matter of days. The system also provides a suitable platform for the production of bespoke fine jewellery, custom made surgical implants and tooling inserts for moulding.
In addition to this latest machine, LPE has also expanded its CNC services with the recent installation of the Hurco 5 Axis CNC Machining Centre, capable of producing one off prototypes or low volume production runs in a variety of plastic and metal.
LPE is set to showcase some samples from its metal sintering technology at the upcoming Medtech event on 29-30 April at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry.
