LPW Technology is set to present new research in the analysis of contamination in additive manufacturing at ILA 2015.
Mike Ford, Sales Director for the leading developer of optimised metal powders for additive manufacturing and analysis technology, will present new research on the effects of powder contamination at the event in Kenilworth UK on 17-18th March.
The Industrial Laser Applications Symposium (ILAS) provides the opportunity for users, suppliers and researchers of laser materials to explore recent advances in applications and processes.
The presentation will discuss the complexities of the AM process, the potential of powder characterisation data to enhance efficiency and diligence around cross contamination and the innovations that are transforming this critical area within the industry.
Highlighting the use of relevant powder testing, a typical production environment case study elucidates how cross contamination and foreign object detection can be identified and mitigated to reduce the risk of part failure.
The analytical data will also be used to demonstrate LPW’s novel software solution for powder management, LPW POWDERSOLVE. This package can be used to verify that powders consistently meet performance specifications and identify contamination prior to powder use, thereby ensuring the highest levels of quality control throughout the lifecycle of the powder and final component properties.
LPW will also demonstrate its powder products to the Chinese market this week when the company takes to the floor at the inaugural TCT Asia show in Shanghai. Exhibiting with strategic partner for China, Shaanxi 3D Technology, the company will show its range of metal powders for additive manufacturing and discuss potential benefits for the market.
