LPW new facility US
LPW Technology's new U.S. facility.
LPW Technology, a developer, processor and supplier of metal powders for the additive manufacturing industry, is to move its U.S. operation to a new and larger facility near Pittsburgh, PA.
The company’s American division will begin work from their new base on Monday 23rd October. Based in Imperial, PA, the facility is around 12,000 sq. ft. in size.
“Given the comprehensive range of AM metal powders we provide, the quality of our laboratory services and the effectiveness of our life cycle powder management systems, along with the increased demand from the AM industry, we have outgrown our current facility,” explained John D Hunter, General Manager of LPW Technology Inc.
Along with the new facility, LPW is also looking to increase its analytical and reconditioning capabilities to improve its customers’ reuse of powders. This will see the company add a scanning electron microscope (SEM) to the new laboratory, and also set up two parallel reconditioning lines of sieves, blenders, and packaging lines to process powders and recertify them to original specifications. Hunter also confirms the company will continue to maintain its large inventory of metal powders and orders will continue to be shipped out within 24 hours.
Meanwhile, across the pond in its UK facility, LPW has again achieved certification ISO 13485 standard for its additively manufactured medical devices. LPW achieved the standard with no critical, major or minor non-conformances.
“Achieving ISO 13485 demonstrates our commitment to delivering only the highest levels of quality assurance to the safety-critical sectors we serve,” said Dr Phil Carroll, Founder and CEO of LPW. “The providers of the life-changing bone and jLPW Tech medical dcoint restoration products that we work with can have full confidence that our quality management systems ensure we operate to the most stringent of protocols.”
