MakerBot introduces MakerBot Europe
Global leader in desktop 3D printing, MakerBot have today announced a major expansion in their international operations by introducing, MakerBot Europe in Germany.
Certain assets of MakerBot’s German reseller, HAFNER’S BÜRO, have been acquired by the company in order to utilise the key customer base and reseller relationships secured throughout Europe.
MakerBot’s current resellers will transition to working with MakerBot Europe led by Alexander Hafner and will continue to manage the large network of MakerBot resellers throughout Central and Eastern Europe.
MakerBot president, Jenny Lawton, said: “We are so excited to officially launch MakerBot Europe and Expand MakerBot’s global reach.”
MakerBot have been primarily focused on their market in the United States but their European customer base is growing fast as the demand for 3D printed products increases. The creation of MakerBot Europe means the company will be able to expand their reach and offer services in more than 20 countries.
Frank Alfano, chief revenue officer at MakerBot, said: “The creation of a MakerBot Europe office demonstrates MakerBot’s commitment to the European market and helps align our overall business growth strategy in the region. Germany has also long been the European hub for 3D printing as overall interest in 3D printing has grown throughout Europe. With new headquarters in Stuttgart, MakerBot hopes to appeal to the thriving community of artists, architects, engineers and educators across Europe covering Austria, Belgium, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
Alfano, added: “HAFNER’S BÜRO in Stuttgart was chosen as the hub for MakerBot Europe due to their excellent performance record, enthusiasm for 3D printing and MakerBot products, and central location."
Proving their popularity, this year MakerBot unveiled a new series of designs of some famous fictional characters including favourites from Sesame Street and plush toy series Uglydoll, available from their online store to download and print at home or made to order.
