Leading medical 3D printing solutions provider Materialise has introduced the Materialise Hospital Solution to assist in bringing safer and more accessible 3D printing to hospitals.
Combining the Mimics Innovation Suite, 3D printing services, training and consultation, the Materialise Hospital Solution will enable medical professionals to better address the individual needs of the patient.

3D imaging is another useful tool for assisting the diagnosis of patients to give surgeons a more in depth understanding of the patient’s case. Recent examples of Materialise’s work in the medical field include a teenage boy with a heart condition who was able to avoid open heart surgery with a 3D printed model that allowed surgeons to confidently proceed with an electrophysiology study and catheter ablation instead. Similarly a 3D printed model of a baby’s tiny heart was used in another case to significantly reduce the time in surgery for the child.
