Interviewing Deirdre MacCormack from Mcor Technologies
Irish 3D printing company, Mcor Technologies, has expanded its global footprint with the official opening of its U.S. headquarters at the Myles Standish Industrial Park in Taunton, Massachusetts.
The world’s only photorealistic-colour, paper-based 3D printer manufacturer has set up the facility to accommodate its growing customer base across the region and arrives just in time for the pioneering company’s 10 year anniversary. This is the company's second U.S. office after it's initial office in San Jose, California.
Using standard copy paper, the company’s flagship 3D printer, the Mcor IRIS, prints any colour anytime employing a global-standard ICC colour map to provide the industry’s most accurate colour 3D printing. Take a look at what Mcor CEO Conor MacCormack had to say about the process in our colour 3D printing special.
The company recently unveiled its latest offering, IRIS HD which provides 360° high-definition colour, sharpens details, and reduces the industry’s already lowest operating costs by 20 percent, raising the bar once more for colour and affordability.
“This U.S. headquarters will provide world-class consulting, service and support directly to our rapidly growing U.S. customer base,” Dr. Conor MacCormack,
co-founder and CEO of Mcor Technologies, commented. “Since our 3D printers are essential to manufacturing and education, we’re especially delighted to be located in Taunton with its rich history in manufacturing and industry and its convenient location between Boston and Providence.”
The facility’s grand opening was attended by Jan O’Sullivan TD, Ireland’s Minister for Education and Skills, and Taunton Mayor, Tom Hoye.
Cutting the ribbon on the new space, Minister O’Sullivan, commented: “This truly innovative Irish company with its unique approach to affordable eco-friendly 3D pr
inting will make 3D printers available in schools and colleges across the US. The United States is the largest and most sophisticated market in the world for Educational Technology and delivering on the obvious potential of the Mcor product here will enable the creation of sales and marketing jobs in the US and high value R+D roles in Dunleer Co. Louth.”
