Customers of Geomagic and Rapidform will soon have some new names to get used to as 3D Systems has announced a raft of changes that bring some of the acquired assets in line with the overarching branding. Only the names will change however, and the systems will remain the untouched. Headline changes are:
- Rapidform XOR is now called Geomagic Design X
- Rapidform XOV is now called Geomagic Verify
- Rapidform XOS is now called Geomagic XOS
- Geomagic Qualify is now called Geomagic Control
- Geomagic Spark is now called Geomagic Design Direct
- Sensable Phantom Omni is now called the Geomagic Touch
- Sensable Phantom Desktop is now called Geomagic Touch X

Dear Geomagic Customer,
As part of 3D Systems, we are going full steam ahead in helping you to manufacture the future by providing the top-notch 3D tools for engineering, manufacturing, archiving, design and more.
Now, top-notch is getting even better. Together with new 3D Systems partners, Rapidform and Alibre, we are reinventing the engineer’s desktop with comprehensive scan-to-production toolsets for data capture, scan processing, 3D design, organic 3D modeling, haptic input, manufacturing preparation and 3D printing.
In bringing our software together in one powerful family, and to highlight the capabilities of each product, we are taking this opportunity to rebrand the Geomagic product line and, in some cases, rename our products.
Let us be clear about one thing: the products you are currently using will only change in name. And our commitment to you and your work is as unwavering as ever. However, you will see some immediate aesthetic changes on our website and materials; in the coming months, you will see some changes in naming on the software itself. But the capabilities, quality, technical and sales support, and Geomagic dedication will remain the same.
Specific name changes include:
Geomagic Qualify is now called Geomagic Control
Geomagic Spark is now called Geomagic Design Direct
Sensable Phantom Omni is now called the Geomagic Touch
Sensable Phantom Desktop is now called Geomagic Touch X
Geomagic Studio, Geomagic Wrap, Geomagic Claytools, Geomagic Freeform, Geomagic Freeform Plus and the Geomagic Phantom Premium haptic device will all retain their previous name, but their branding will change slightly.
Several other products from Rapidform are changing names as well, including Rapidform XOR (now called Geomagic Design X), Rapidform XOV (now called Geomagic Verify) and Rapidform XOS (now called Geomagic XOS). Just as our world-class teams have already come together as one organization, our product branding is now combined to reflect the level of integration you can expect to see from us going forward.
This is an exciting time for us at 3D Systems, because we always want to bring you beneficial tools and higher productivity. Our new partnerships, along with this naming and branding change, is a huge step in furthering this mission.
