Hexagon Metrology's new Leitz PMM-Xi.
Hexagon Metrology expands its product range for small and medium-sized enterprises with the new Leitz PMM-Xi.Hexagon Metrology is targeting the small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) market with its new Leitz PMM-Xi.
The company has acknowledged that this cost-aware market may have found extremely precise coordinate measuring machines out of their financial reach until the arrival of the Leitz PMM-Xi.
Like the present Leitz models - including the Leitz PMM-C and Leitz Infinity - the Leitz PMM-Xi offers high measuring certainty maintained over the long-term, shot measurement times and high part throughput.
With a basic accuracy of 0.6 + L/550 micrometres, the new Leitz PMM-Xi is suitable for calibrating measuring tools and as a reference instrument for the production floor, quality centres and measurement laboratories. As a universal measuring machine, the Leitz PMM-Xi takes the place of form testers, gear and camshaft checkers, and other specialist machines. The high resolution of the scale bars ensures reproducible measurement results. It is 0.02 micrometres on the Leitz PMM-Xi.
On the sensor side, this coordinate measuring machine enters the market with the new version of the LSP-X5 High-Speed-Scanning sensor. This sensor - which is well established in the field of industrial 3D metrology - supports variable High-Speed-Scanning, self-centering 3D scanning, as well as single-point probing.
The new generation of the LSP-X5 also offers an interface for a removable part temperature sensor. The temperature sensor can be integrated into the probe head at any time during the measuring process, and the ability to measure the temperature of the part and calculate the compensation means the measured values are even more accurate.
A total of nine Leitz PMM-Xi models are available in the proven measurement ranges of the Leitz PMM-C series. They can be obtained immediately from all Hexagon Metrology branches all over the world.
