Quick-turn manufacturer Proto Labs has joined the MySolidWorks Manufacturing Network, created to connect Solidworks users with reliable manufacturers.
Powered by Dassault Systèmes, the network provides its 2.5 million strong user base with access to manufacturing resources in the 3D printing, sheet metal, CNC machining and moulding industry.
“Proto Labs is indicative of the type of company we are partnering with in the network,” says Nick Iwaskow, Senior Alliances & Partnership Manager, Solidworks, Dassault Systèmes. “They are a reputable manufacturer that can produce parts quickly and efficiently for Solidworks users.”
Proto Labs recently announced it had enhanced its prototyping capabilities with a quick turn around service capable of producing parts in just one day. Designers can upload a 3D CAD model and receive an interactive quote with manufacturability analysis within hours.
“We are excited to partner with Solidworks in this new way, to make it even easier for Solidworks users to access Proto Labs’ services and have their new product designs manufactured in a few days across the range of our services,” explains Robert Bodor, Proto Labs VP and General Manager of the Americas. “Our online quoting tools have been designed to make this process seamless, and our global scale allows us to meet the needs of thousands of users a day for both prototyping and production.”
Attendees of Solidworks World in Arizona currently have the opportunity to visit either the Proto Labs or Solidworks booth and receive a champion style 3D printed ring. Manufactured using Proto Labs SLArmour process, a next level stereolithography process which uses an ultraviolet laser to build complex objects and is then plated with a nickel coating, the ring has the feel and strength of metal but without the weight.
