Azoth and RIZE partner to deliver the ‘Additive Indirect Supplies Crib’.
Boston-based 3D printing company, Rize Inc., has announced a partnership with PSMI, a leader in metal removal solutions and engineering expertise, on a new additive manufacturing (AM) solution for the industrial prototyping and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) markets.
Recognising the growth tooling applications within the AM industry, PSMI has formed Azoth, a wholly-owned subsidiary to provide an on-site additive manufacturing solution together with Rize.
“PSMI offers services at more than 250 plants across multiple countries, including OEMs, like John Deere, General Motors and Eaton Corporation,” said Scott Burk, Co-President of PSMI. “We intend to have each and every one of those locations deliver innovative additive manufacturing products and services to our customers.”
The partnership aims to create and operate the Additive Indirect Supplies Crib which will provide manufacturers with custom prototype tooling, gaging, fixturing and more, on site to reduce costs and lead times. Rize reseller, Dynamic Detroit, will provide sales and services support to Azoth.

Rize's technology will be used to provide on-site manufacturing for a range of prototyping, tooling and one-off applications.
Compared to subtractive methods, PSMI estimates cost reductions of 50X and lead time reductions of 30X are feasible using Rize’s Augmented Polymer Deposition technology, which combines both extrusion and inkjet processes. The partners believe the solution will be particularly beneficial to large global manufacturers facing substantial lead times and costs for machined one-off and replacement parts.
“We are delighted to partner with a visionary company like Azoth to help drive a new business model based on Rize’s APD additive manufacturing technology,” said Andy Kalambi, President and CEO of Rize Inc. “Rize is a future-proof technology in the fast-moving additive space. This partnership further demonstrates Rize’s vision and leadership to enable Additive at Scale.”
“The opportunities enabled by the partnership of these global leaders in subtractive and additive manufacturing technologies is enormous,” said Vince Mileto, President of Dynamic Detroit. "With our rich heritage of increasing our customers’ profitability, we look forward to bringing the significantly enhanced value this partnership and new business model offers to our customers.”
