SRP Player CAM software now compatible with Roland DG monoFab SRM -20
3D printer manufacturer Roland DG has announced that its SRP Player CAM software is now compatible with the Roland DG monoFab SRM -20 desktop milling machine.
Roland DG launched the monoFab series, which includes the SRM-20 desktop milling machine and ARM-10 3D printer, in September 2014 as Roland DG’s answer to digital desktop fabrication solutions. Currently this software comes bundled with other high-end Roland DG machines and will now come as standard with the SRM-20.
The software allows users of all levels to use Roland DG’s milling technology with ease and precision by simplifying everything from reading 3D CAD data to settling milling requirements. Users can also generate optimised tool path data by inputting information according to step-by-step instructions displayed on the screen. Improving from the original MODELA Player 4 software, the SRP Player includes special features that support double-sided milling and allow users to easily check for fine details before cutting.
In other news, the company has also announced a significant milestone of 3,000 DWX series dental milling machines shipped worldwide. The machines are designed for the manufacture of dental prosthetics such as crowns and bridges and have been installed in many dental laboratories and clinics investing in the systems to replace conventional, time-consuming casting methods.

Roland DG entered the market with the DWX-30 4-axis machine followed by the launch of the 5-axis DWX-50 high-performance model in 2011. The DWX-30/50 was highly regarded for its desktop size, user-friendliness, open architecture for use in combination with popular CAD/CAM software and scanners. In 2013, the product line-up was bolstered by the launch of the DWX-4, which delivered ease of operation and machining accuracy in a compact size. Today, Roland DG’s DWX series is adopted at dental laboratories in America, Europe, China and Japan, and is contributing to the widespread digitalisation of dental prosthesis production.
