Reduced Machining Times with Pictures by PC 3.6
Reduced Machining Times with Pictures by PC 3.6Schott Systeme has succeeded in reducing NC programming and milling times further with the use of its CAD/CAM software Pictures by PC 3.6.
The technology achieves these savings thanks to the numerous new machining strategies included within the latest incarnation of the software.
Toolpaths within a single finishing operation generated by hybrid finishing, for example, optimises and combines the machining of side faces and flatter regions, while an improved rest material recognition analyses and marks areas that need further machining with a smaller tool. This allows the residual material to be completely removed.
The existing pocketing operations are now complemented by the inclusion of trochoidal milling. The radial toolpaths facilitate the machining of extremely hard materials, improve the machine dynamic through ‘smoother’ toolpaths, and extends tool life.
Furthermore, Schott Systeme has included improvements to the toolpath simulation, and has combined existing milling, 5 axis simultaneous and turning operations for fully integrated mill / turn.
Schott Systeme continues to develop the same software solutions originally launched in 1983. Starting out as one of the very first vector-based graphics packages for the PC, its Pictures by PC software has evolved into one of the most mature CAD/CAM and technical documentation products available today.
As a fully-integrated 2D/3D CAD, CAM and graphics package, Pictures by PC caters for all aspects of workshop machining, through to product design and documentation.
