Sculpteo
Pink gold, black rhodium and white rhodium.
3D printing service Sculpteo is launching three new precious metal finishes for its brass and silver material options. Designers now have the opportunity to submit custom pieces for printing in a choice of pink gold, white rhodium and black rhodium.
In response to customer demand following the launch of its brass and silver materials range with different finishes, the company announced five new options have been added to the mix.
Previously available to order with either a rough or mirror polished finish and 22K gold plating, brass can now be selected with three new plating options in pink gold, white rhodium and black rhodium.
Likewise, the silver material option which was also formerly available in both surface textures, is now ready to order with a white or black rhodium finish.
The additions bring Sculpteo’s material combinations up to a total of 10 allowing users to choose between rough, mirror polished, 22k gold plated, pink gold plated, white rhodium and black rhodium finishes.
These new finishes will be manufactured using both digital and manual techniques. For metal materials, Sculpteo uses a lost-wax casting technique, where the original wax model is first printed using a ProJet 3500 CPX HD 3D printer. From there a mould is made around the wax, before it is melted and filled with metal, creating your object.
The turn around time for brass material is 13 to 18 business days whereas silver can take up to 21 days. All print options are available in the 3D Printing Cloud Engine.
All new options are also available in the 3D Printing Cloud Engine, Sculpteo’s collection of resources that allow businesses to integrate and offer a complete 3D printing service their customers.
