Shining 3D Fashion Contest launches to find best 3D printing design talent.
Chinese 3D printing company Shining 3D has launched its search for the very best in 3D printed fashion talent.
In partnership with Pinshape, the 2015 Shining 3D Fashion Show Design Contest is giving budding designers the chance to have their designs shown on the catwalk at the 2nd International 3D Printing Fashion Show at the 2015 Third World 3D Printing and Technology Industry Conference & Expo June 3-6, 2015 in Chengdu, China.
A prize pool worth more than $5,000 is also up for grabs along with six Einscan-S desktop 3D scanners and 3D printers.
The competition is open to all areas of fashion from shoes to glasses, belts to dresses and Shining 3D says they be looking for “innovative, exciting and fashion-forward ideas”.
The global competition is free to enter and entrants can submit as many unique designs as they like. Designers can collect ‘likes’ on Pinshape to better their chances of winning before the closing date on May 15th.
Designs will be judged by a panel of six professionals including, Kim Francois, Materialise, Jun Luo, Chairman of World 3D printing technology industry alliance, and Steven Ma, co-founder of Shanghai design studio Xuberance. Finalists will be judged on the overall design quality and ease of printing, style and utility and also detailed specifications on optimum print settings and inspiration.
The winner will be announced before the start of the Expo on May 25th and the design will be printed off at the 2015 Shining 3D Fashion Show as part of the Third World 3D Printing Technology Industry Conference.
