Advanced Manufacturing Partners (AMP), an advanced prototyping organisation, has selected Austin, Texas as the location for its flagship factory.
A strategic partner of American Center for Manufacturing and Innovation (ACMI), AMP houses what it describes as an 'unprecedented fleet of advanced machinery,' with equipment from EOS, DN Solutions, Spinner, Solukon, Moly Cut, Zeiss, and AMCM. This repertoire of manufacturing machinery is said to include the world's first deployment of the AMCM M 8K, a large-format metal system with an 800 x 800 x 1200 mm build volume and eight 1kW lasers.
This fleet of manufacturing systems has been built up to provide a one-stop-shop for hardware firms developing, designing, building, and testing next-generation technology. AMP believes it will be able to support small and mid-sized businesses in leveraging 'state-of-the-art' infrastructure without large capital equipment investments, accelerating innovation cycles, and allowing scale-ups. The company also allows its customers to fully retain and own their intellectual property.
AMP is already working with customers and will host a grand opening and official ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new facility in early 2027.
"AMP represents a pivotal shift in how hardware innovation gets done," said Nick Bass, Executive Director of Advanced Manufacturing Partners. "By lowering the barrier to entry for world-class manufacturing and accelerating the prototype process, AMP enables companies to iterate faster, scale seamlessly, and bring groundbreaking products to market at an unprecedented pace."
"AMP bridges the critical gap between hardware design and full-scale commercial manufacturing," added John Burer, Founder of ACMI. "By combining the most advanced manufacturing technology in the world and a mindset of enablement, AMP empowers innovators to turn ambitious concepts into scalable production. Hardware, not blueprints."
