Stratasys has launched its new large-format F870 FDM system, which has been designed for 'industrial manufacturers, automotive OEMs, and aerospace & defence production lines.'
The F870 boasts a fully heated 1000 x 610 x 610 mm build chamber, is said to have a low cost of ownership compared to systems of its kind, and is supported by a suite of 'strong and durable' materials that includes Nylon 12CF, ASA, ABS and the new FDM ABS Draft (Gray).
Stratasys has been motivated to develop the F870 in a bid to address the tooling, fixtures, manufacturing aids and end-use parts that are in demand across a range of sectors. Toyota Production Engineering and Rivian Automotive have both installed the F870 at their respective Georgetown, Kentucky and Plymouth, Michigan, facilities, with factory floor tooling and manufacturing aids understood be among the target applications.
