Since launching its MetalFAB1 machine at formnext powered by tct last year, Additve Industries have been ramping up the production and sales of its 3D printer designed for series production of metal additive parts, here at RAPID 2016 the dutch manufacturer has announced a sale to GKN Powder Metallurgy a world leader in the manufacturing of precision automotive components.
The ambition of this sale goes beyond a regular customer journey as Additive Industries are joining forces with GKN to apply the MetalFAB1 system for industrialised automotive serial production that is compliant with ISO/TS 16949 at significantly higher productivity than ever before.
“For Additive Industries the input from an automotive leader like GKN is a beautiful addition to the other Beta customers from the aerospace and high tech equipment markets. Their unconditional focus on predictability and total cost is an important driver for further integration and optimisation”, according to Additive Industries Co-founder and CEO, Daan Kersten.
