3D Printing specialist Prodways has announced the pre-launch of its newest machine, the Promaker P1000 X, along with two new AM materials, at the Rapid + TCT show in Detroit.
The ProMaker P1000 X follows on from the previous model, P1000, offering a larger printing volume of 32 litres and close to double the production speed of its predecessor at 2 litres per hour. Other features include a 24-point-grid thermal field control system, a new realtime slicer and an integrated camera for remote process control. Prodways claims that it offers the lowest price/volume ratio on the market for SLS printers.
The materials available for the new printer are the rubber-like TPU 70-A, the new Polypropylene PP 1200, PA12, 3 different grades of PA11 and soon, Stark 3200.
Along with the new machine, two new materials are being announced. PP 1200 Polypropylene is a powder for Selective Laser Sintering which was already previewed at Formnext a few months ago. It is compatible with all Prodways SLS printers and offers easy processing at a melting point of 136°C, along with high chemical resistance. It is lighter than PA12 and is said to be suitable for both small and large parts, for applications that require ductility, such as snap-fits or living hinges.
PLASTCure Denture is a resin material for use with the ProMaker LD10 and LD20 dental 3D printers and was presented at last year’s Lab Day West in California. The 207-square-inch platform of the LD Series is intended to produce denture bases and teeth models in large quantities. The system is capable of printing 30 full denture bases in less than 5 hours.
