Akemake's wooden 3D printed speaker
If you’re attending TCT + Personalize Show this year you’ll, of course, be in for a treat for your eyes with the aesthetically pleasing designs dotted all over the show. At the Akemake stand it will be more than you eyes being stimulated as their 3D printed wooden speaker hopes to give you aural senses a tingle too.
Akemake’s Spirula seashell like speakers have been seen before but this updated version, the Spirula 4.0, is made using Fillamentum’s Timberfill wood composite filament to give it a more refreshing design, in-fitting with modern home interiors.
One of Akemake’s founder Ondra Chotovinsky has designed the speaker to be printed in two halves, which can be glued together and added to the various components. Akemake have made the stl for this speaker available for you to download.
For a limited time The Spirula 4.0 speaker is free to download from the Akemake's store, which hosts several other high-end 3D printing designs complete with printing and assembly instructions.
The wood filament by Fillamentum is one of a host of several wood filaments that is appearing on the 3D printing market at this moment in time. The popularity of these wood filaments seems to be increasing especially for design projects such as this one.
