3D printed Ghostbusters figurines from Cubify
Who you gonna call? … ahem. 3D Systems are celebrating Ghostbusters’ 30th anniversary with a new addition to the Cubify 3DMe family.
The 3D printing giant has teamed up with Columbia pictures to offer you the chance to have your face 3D printed onto your very own Ghostbusters’ figurine, just in time for Halloween.
There are four different poses to choose from in the famous Ghostbuster suits and extra customisable features including a range of hairstyles and colours.
The prints are created in Cubify Colorstone designed for 3d printing parts in full colour and suitable for moving pieces. The figures can be purchased on the Cubify store for $69.99. Simply upload a good quality photo of your face to the service and then customise your figure from a list of options.
This is the latest franchise 3D Systems has tapped into with past figurines including personalised Star Trek and NBA stars.
Personalised figurines are fast becoming one of the most popular applications of 3D scanning and printing technology with brands like Artec offering the service in their Shapify booth in ASDA supermarkets across the UK and various online services offering miniature figures including those in the style of Marvel superheroes.
