UP! mini 3D printer debut's at RAPID 2012
China-based purveyor of 3D printers, Delta Micro Factory Corp, has simul-launched (i.e., launched at a number of shows simultaneously) the UP! mini 3D printer at RAPID 2012, Atlantic Design and Manufacturing, and CeBIT.
The sub-£1k printer features a 'usable' 120 mm3 build chamber with a heated build bed to help stop warping of larger items. The housing is all steel, which combined with the heated bed should create a good build environment for the ABS parts at this price level.
The UP! mini uses standard 1.75 mm spooled ABS, which users can obtain from their cheapest local source. The snap, slide and clip set up features, which refer to the print head, build table and materials feed respectively, are aimed squarely at ease of operation a home or casual user would need.
The printer will be available globally from the 1st of June through the companies website and global distributor network.
