Modibots make use of the growing online 3D printing service companies such as Shapeways, Sculpteo and Ponoko. Using 3D printing as the manufacturing process means that the Modiverse contains an ever-expanding series of parts that can be combined to great your own creatures, characters and odd-ball creations. The flexibility of 3D printing (in as much as you can produce one of something reasonably affordably) means that the opportunities for accessories are virtually endless.
