Print-a-Porsche Cayman S...
We hear a lot about the uses of 3D printing for the automotive industry — from personalized interiors to high performance components. In a small way, Porsche are getting in on the act too by releasing the 3D data for the Cayman and asking the community to get printing!
If you head over to the Porsche website now you can download the (enormous!) model of a Cayman S to print and 'colorize' and share back with the community. The video shows a model being created with Stratasys' Object technology, allowing a nice multi-material print (though I think they could have made more of it with some grey scale to bring out the details). Quite how it will look off a rather cheaper desktop system awaits to be seen... anyone going to give it a go?
