LPW's PowderTrace hopper
Additive manufacturing metal powder specialist, LPW Technology will be showcasing its full traceability solution with the innovative PowderSolve software system and PowderTrace smart hopper at TCT Show in September.
The 2017 edition marks the sixth outing at the show for the Cheshire-based company as it demonstrates how its cutting-edge 3D technologies can deliver effective traceability, from powder to part, in serial AM production.
“At LPW we’re aligned with the TCT Show’s mission to accelerate the adoption of 3D technologies for design, development and manufacture across all industry sectors,” says Dr Phil Carroll, LPW’s Founder and CEO. “To add intelligent data and practical, cost-effective solutions we’ve developed PowderLife, an integrated suite of software, hardware, analysis, applications support and premium metal powders.”
Viewing AM from the perspective of the powder, at TCT Show, LPW will be highlighting both a newly released software and a hardware component of its PowderLife offering. Two new products, PowderSolve and PowderTrace, have been specifically designed to monitor and control powder condition, adding traceability, reliability and confidence throughout the powder lifecycle.
“Knowing the condition of your powder at every step of the way helps avoid costly build failures,” continues Phil. “Combining PowderTrace’s smart transport and storage capabilities with PowderSolve’s ability to track powder history through different blends, repeated uses and different batches ensures traceability not only of the powder but also user actions and machine specifics, and the built parts. Adding intelligent powder management to AM can increase productivity and reduce costs and risk.”
