Renishaw to showcase metal additive manufacturing applications at TCT Show

Parts for Domin Fluid Power, Brunel University and Atherton Bikes will be showcased on Stand D100.

Renishaw will showcase a number of applications to demonstrate the capabilities of its metal additive manufacturing (AM) technology at the upcoming TCT Show.

The company will spotlight Domin Fluid Power’s direct drive valves which were manufactured on the RenAM 500Q platform in a smaller size and in a significantly reduced timeframe, as well as Brunel University’s Formula Student race car, the BR-XX, and its 3D printed manifold part produced on the same machine.

Meanwhile, another user of Renishaw’s additive manufacturing technology, Atherton Bikes, will discuss its experience with 3D printing technology on the TCT Summit stage on Wednesday 25th September at 11.15am. Co-founder Ben Farmer will detail how the company is combining the latest manufacturing technologies with the expertise of some of the most successful mountain bikers. Between them, Dan, Gee and Rachel Atherton have dozens of winners’ medals from World Cups, World Championships and national competitions, and now they are committed to bettering the development of bikes.

Atherton Bikes has been working with Renishaw to additively manufacture titanium lugs for its bike frames at Renishaw’s Staffordshire Additive Manufacturing Solutions Centre. In time, production will be transferred to Atherton Bikes to oversee in-house. At TCT Show, Farmer will tell the story so far.
