Verbatim has announced the launched of a new high-speed, high-performance filament for material extrusion, named PRIMALLOY BLACK, which it will showcase at TCT Show later this month.
The filament is a new variation of the PRIMALLOY product it launched nearly three years ago to the day. It will serve designers who seek to create 3D functioning objects where flexibility and durability are of paramount importance. These applications, Verbatim foresees, could be used in the automotive, home, and industrial sectors, including items from door latches and plugs, to robot parts and protective components.
PRIMALLOY is a thermoplastic ester elastomer (TPEE) that delivers improved flexibility and rubber elasticity compared to standard TPE materials. It provides high-performance characteristics in terms of mechanical strength and resistance to oil, base, solvents, chemicals, flex fatigue and heat, in addition to offering excellent low temperature properties and a high level of hardness stability across a wide temperature range, making PRIMALLOY particularly suited for outdoor applications.
Verbatim’s latest material was developed by its parent company, Mitsubishi Chemical. The company also provides PP, PET, BVOH (water soluble support materials), PLA and ABS. All Verbatim filaments are manufactured in Japan rom high quality materials and produced to extremely light tolerances to ensure consistent feed and stable printing.
“Customers have been pushing us to launch a black version of our popular PRIMALLOY material, and here it is,” said Shigeyuki Furomoto, Manager, Global CEO office, Mitsubishi Chemical Media. “We expect good demand for it as most applications where a flexible material is needed, such as door or window seals, grips, holders etc. tend to be in black.”
PRIMALLOY Black will be among Verbatim’s exhibited products at the upcoming TCT Show in Birmingham, UK, at Stand E46 between Tuesday 26th September – Thursday 28th September.
