The previous two weeks has seen TCT roll out the shortlists to our Application and Technology Innovation awards ahead of the inaugural TCT Awards next month.
Applications range from cases in aerospace to automotive, and healthcare to consumer products, while Technology Innovation was divided into Hardware, Materials and Software. These awards will recognise the best examples of how to use 3D printing technology, and the best technologies to enable those applications.
It leaves the final accolade, the TCT Rising Star Award. The TCT Hall of Fame will celebrate five of the leading innovators and pioneers throughout the industry’s 30+ year history, but we’ve also made a commitment to recognise the newbies, upstarts and rising stars – the new entrants to the 3D printing market that hold so much promise.
For this award, TCT was inundated with applicants from both individuals and companies, and due to the nature of this category we will not be shortlisting nominees in advance of the event next month. Instead, a single announcement will be made to congratulate the winner of the TCT Rising Star award on the night of September 27th, the middle evening of the TCT Show. The ceremony will be presented by Robert Llywellyn, the British television actor and presenter.
In similar vein to the other TCT Award categories, the TCT Expert Advisory Board will be pouring over the applicants to decide who will be recognised as the 2017 TCT Rising Star. The board has also been busy weighing up which five of our shortlisted ten will be inducted into the TCT Hall of Fame. The lucky few will also be announced on the night of the awards ceremony.
