As the newest member of the TCT team, this will be my first TCT Show + Personalize and it's safe to say I'm pretty excited. If I’ve taken on board any pre-show advice, it is to plan my days! So in case there are any other TCT freshmen making their inaugural trip down to the NEC next week, I thought I would present my guide to some of the things I'm looking forward to at this year’s event.
How Bahrain was 3D Printed: The Value of Country Models - Mcor Technologies
It’s 3D printing super sized … to scale. This 5.4M x 2.2M scale model of Bahrain will be shown in a presentation that demonstrates how country models can benefit national and local leaders in efficient planning. Designed by Ian Best of MicroCADD, the model was created using Mcor’s groundbreaking paper based 3D printing.
Look out for: Mcor’s latest announcements on its Selective Deposition Lamination 3D printing.
Starlord’s mask – Innovation Showcase
‘Hooked on a feeeeling!’ – If like me you became slightly obsessed with Guardians of the Galaxy after its release this summer and went out and bought your own mini Groot (No? Just me?) then the Innovation Showcase is your first port of call. Designed by FBFX and printed by IPF this now iconic prop demonstrates the major impact 3D printing is having on the silver screen.
Look out for: Design Reality’s bespoke 3D printed goggles in the Innovation Showcase.
Brooklyn Rising - The Story, Philosophy and Future of MakerBot, Bre Pettis & Jenny Lawton – Keynote (Day 2, 10.10am)

From startup to a $400 million acquisition in just 5 years, the MakerBot story is an inspiring one for wannabe 3D printing brains of the future. Founder Bre and acting CEO Jenny, will deliver unique insights on how to make it big in 3D printing and what to expect from the industry in the future.
Look out for: Bre’s latest project, Bold Machines - The Innovation Workshop at Stratasys.
Graphite Additive Manufacturing - Exhibitor's Hall
With over 17 years experience in the world of rapid prototyping, the team have been gearing up for their exhibition at this years show with some huge parts and carbon-reinforced SLS examples appearing on Twitter. Pop by their stand and you may even be in for some freebies.
Look out for: 3D printed model of the famous SOMA cube showcasing Graphite’s Clear ABS-Like SLA material.
Latest Faro Technical Advancement in Laser Scanning Technology, Andrew Tagg– Seminar Zone (Day 1, 1.30pm)
For those of you interested in the more technical side of things, FARO Area Sales Director, Andrew Tag will be showcasing the company’s advancements in their cutting edge metrology products after a successful show at TCT 2013.

3D Hubs UK Maker Meetup
TCT will play host to the first 3D Hubs UK Maker Meetup. 3D Hubs is one of the hottest maker communities around bringing together a network of 7000+ 3D printers across the globe. The meetup will be a great place to connect and learn about the latest technology.
Look out for: 3D Hub’s driving force, Filemon Schoffer speaking in the seminar zone.
TCT Start Up Zone
There is no better place to get a glimpse of the 3D printing talent of tomorrow than the TCT Start Up Zone. With exhibitions from upcoming brands and businesses, new names; Tethon 3D, Delta-Trix, 3Distributed, Genius Inspirata, Layer Labz, 3Dom Filaments, Fillamentum, Omni Dynamics, Iconic Engineering Solutions and akemake, will make their TCT debut.
Look out for: DeltraTrix 3D printer – a Kickstarter success story.
