Todd Grimm speaking
Additive manufacturing industry innovators Todd Grimm, Jason Lopes and Dr Mike North are set to speak at the AMUG conference in Tuscon, Arizona, in April.
The Education & Training Conference - which is esteemed in the industrial additive manufacturing sphere - takes place from April 6th-10th and there Grimm, Lopes and North will inform, motivate and enthuse attendees with their insights into the possibilities of additive manufacturing technology.
President of T.A. Grimm & Associates and industry advisor for AMUG Todd Grimm will open proceedings on April 7th with his trademark "enthusiastically realistic" look at the growing 3D printing industry. He will share with the audience his thoughts on current and upcoming developments in the additive manufacturing sphere and demystify while dispelling hype. This is Grimm's fourth appearance as a keynote speaker for AMUG.
Legacy Effects' Jason Lopes will kick off the second day with quite literally a behind-the-scenes look at the role additive manufacturing plays in blockbuster feature films and commercials. Lopes' visual journey of Legacy Effects' additive manufacturing solutions on the small and silver screens will commence on April 8th, demonstrating how the technology helped bring masterpieces such as Avatar, Pacific Rim and Ironman to life.
And on April 10th Dr Mike North, Founder and Chair of Reallocate, Founder of North Design Labs and television personality from Prototype This! on the Discovery Channel, will give his presentation Additive Manufacturing, A Force For Good. He will discuss the technology and its power to transform the world, sharing real-life example of how the technology is having a positive impact, giving a glimpse of how it can be used in the future. North's message draws on his first-hand experiences at Reallocate, an organisation that connects world-class talent to social impact projects to create real-world solutions.
AMUG President Bret Bordner said: "We are extremely pleased to have three well-known, well-respected keynote speakers to kick off our daily activities. Each of these speakers has interesting, insightful information to share, and each presents in an engaging way that will energise attendees for the day to come."
After the keynote presentations there will be hands-on workshops and presentations that cover art and architecture, metal casting, education, manufacturing tools, materials, medical, direct metals, scanning, stereolithography, laser sintering and transportations.
"We have organised a great conference with a cross-platform agenda to meet the needs of all AMUG members technical expertise," Bordner added.
Now in its 26th year, the AMUG conference is open to owners and operators of all additive manufacturing technologies. The advanced, all-inclusive conference registration fee is $695.00. For details and a link to registration, visit www.am-ug.com.
