Professional 3D hardware and software developers, Artec 3D have announced new deals for businesses and users with a limited budget for two of their products.
Artec 3D have slashed prices on their Eva Lite 3D Scanner and Studio 11 Modelling Software, facilitating an easy, more affordable, introduction to the world of 3D scanning. The Eva Lite scanner has been reduced to $9,800 from over $14,000, while the Studio 11 software has been reduced from $1,450 to $1,200. For those upgrading from the Studio 9 or 10 the price of the upgraded version is $600.
The company has also set new prices for its Eva Lite educational bundles for colleges and universities, in addition to discounts on upgrading to Artec Studio 11 software.
Artec 3D hope that their price cuts will ensure easier access to advanced 3D technology for numerous markets, including the healthcare market.
The Eva Lite is an affordable entry-level version of the handheld white-light 3D scanner, Artec Eva. It features the same accuracy specs, but with reduced functionality such as geometry only tracking and data capture, not colour. An object therefore needs to have rich geometry for a 3D scan, such as the human body.
Artec’s new educational package makes it easier than ever for schools and universities to provide its pupils with professional, industry-standard 3D scanners. The price offer for educational institutions encompasses Eva Lite and 20 licenses of the Artec Studio 11 software. Users will also receive a two-year warranty on the scanner and two years of free software upgrades to ensure access to the latest versions and features of Artec Studio, upon release. The package is available for any kind of academic institute, but they must agree to publicly share a description of how the scanners are being used on the institute’s website.
The Studio 11 software was introduced in June 2016, boasting many automised features, such as the Autopilot data processing mode, which enables even beginners to create high-quality 3D models. The software leads the user through data processing by asking a few simple questions about the characteristics of the object scanned and the required type of 3D model. It automatically deletes any unnecessary data, aligns scans and chooses the most efficient 3D algorithms to fuse them all with just one mouse click.
Additionally, the software can accurately remove the base an object was scanned on, such as the floor. This function is particularly useful for larger projects as it can save up to 30 minutes of the processing time.
Discounts on the Studio 11 software are valid starting from November 15th until December 31.
