BCN3D CEO change

BCN3D Technologies, a Spanish manufacturer of desktop 3D printing systems, has announced Xavier M. Faneca as their new CEO.
Faneca, who will assume the position from February 1st, succeeds Roger Uceda as he commits his time and effort to 3D printing technological development and research at the CIM Technological Center, the innovation institute that spawned BCN3D.
As one of the founding members of the company, Faneca has been promoted from his position as Chief Operations Officer. Since BCN3D’s inception, he has harnessed his 3D printing expertise within the operations and design departments, helping to bring the IDEX technology and Sigma and Sigmax products to market.
Though a change at management level, Faneca is keen to pick up where Uceda left off, maintaining the company’s growth while responding to market needs.
“Roger and I started the project and we have been working together since 2011, seeing the project growth and consolidation,” Faneca commented. “Now it is a huge honour to take the lead at BCN3D and I am confident to say that our team is ready to take advantage of the new market opportunities. I can feel the thrill of making BCN3D even bigger with new technology and products for our customers.”

Uceda will support BCN3D’s technological development strategy from afar. Working with the CIM Technological Center, he will lead a long term vision, aiming to ensure the successful continuity with the BCN3D project and reinforce its status within the 3D printing industry. The set-up should allow BCN3D to take profit from new 3D printing processes, developed as a result of research conducted at the CIM.
