BeAM Machines SAS, a manufacturer of 3D printers with Directed Energy Deposition (DED) technology, is to host an open house of the new 20,000 square foot facility it opened earlier this year.
From 11am-8pm on Thursday 31st August, visitors are welcome to attend the open house, to experience live demonstrations of the company’s flagship machine, The Magic 2.0, and tour the facility. The facility boasts a dedicated additive manufacturing workspace, metallurgical lab, applications training facility, assembly area, and post process machining department.
It is home to the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, BeAM Machines Inc. and handles the business’ sales, service, process/ material development, research & development, and training. Tim Bell, BeAM Machines Inc.’s General Manager, is looking forward to welcoming attendees to the facility, located at 5101 Creek Road in Blue Ash, believing it is located in a prime catchment area for some of the strongest engineers and a high number of potential clients and partners.
“We chose Blue Ash as the location for our facility because it is the largest suburban employment centre in greater Cincinnati with nearly 40,000 jobs,” he said. “Additionally, it is centrally located to the major highways, is approximately 30 minutes to the Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky International Airport and is populated with a very high concentration of potential customers and suppliers.”
The company is also confident its technology offering will also attract custom and collaborations. Its additive manufacturing platforms combine DED, which works by feeding metallic powder through a deposition nozzle and melting it with a high-power laser, and computer numeric control (CNC), which helps to ensure controlled accuracy. Supporting a range of materials, from stainless steel and titanium, to nickel alloys and cobalt chromium, the machines can cater for an array of industries, like aerospace, automotive, and defence.
