Portable 3D measurement solution developer, Creaform has announced educational institutions are able to receive 50 free bundle licenses for two of its software platforms when they buy a 3D scanner or portable Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
Educators can acquire the licenses for the VXmodel scan-to-CAD software and VXinspect dimensional software for use in schools, colleges and universities. Researchers, teachers and students alike will be able to benefit from the adoption of Creaform’s products, as the company bids to support the adoption and understanding of measurement technologies. Students will be able to learn how and when to use 3D measurement techniques in engineering, product design or quality control, and have hands-on experience with a scanning solution and supporting software platform.
“Creaform has always been firmly committed to helping educational institutions teach and master metrology solutions to better prepare students for research projects and the job market,” said Stephane Auclair, Vice-President of Marketing and Product Management at Creaform. “This new Educational Package will enable professors and researchers to take their curriculum to a whole new level.”
Creaform’s portable 3D scanners include the GoScan 3D, HandyScan 3D and MetraScan 3D products. The three options are joined by the company’s portable CMM device in the offer. They are all said to boast highly accurate and reliable scans. When purchasing one of the four solutions, educators will get the chance to obtain 50 free licenses for the VXmodel and VXinspect software tools. VXmodel is a post-treatment software that integrates into VXelements and allows the user to finalise 3D scan data to use in any 3d printing or CAD software. VXinspect, meanwhile, is designed to conduct first article inspection and production control and can build a measurement sequence for the efficient controlling of multiple parts.
In addition to the measurement and software products, educators will also receive one-year warranty on parts and labour; five years of software updates and technical support; two system maintenances; and a comprehensive teaching manual on reverse engineering and quality control/ inspection.
