Desktop Metal has selected Morris Group Inc., a reputable manufacturing technology reseller, as a Diamond Partner supplier for its metal 3D printing platforms in 30 states across the U.S.
Providing a service from Maine to Florida to the Dakotas, Morris Group is adding Desktop Metal’s Studio System to its existing offering of CNC machine tools. With this, Morris Group is confident it now provides and end-to-end suite of advanced manufacturing technologies for precision metal parts.
“We are very pleased to represent Desktop Metal and excited to introduce this ground-breaking 3D printing technology to metal cutting manufacturers in our distribution area,” said Brad Morris, President and CEO of Morris Group. “Our organisation brings more than seventy-five years of manufacturing experience, knowledge and customer support to the table.”
Desktop Metal CEO and Co-Founder, Ric Fulop added: “We are excited to partner with Morris Group to bring our metal 3D printing solutions to new markets. Through this partnership, manufacturers can leverage the same trusted source to purchase and service the highly complementary technologies of CNC machine tools and metal additive manufacturing that together deliver the dimensional accuracy and speed needed to produce reliable, precision metal parts.”
Morris Group says it has been researching 3D printing technology for several years, monitoring its evolution from rapid prototyping tool to manufacturing technology. The company believes Desktop Metal’s solutions offer what Morris Group’s customers need, and thus the partnership between the pair was a natural development.
The Studio System, which was launched in April 2017, will be distributed by all Morris Group companies, with Demo systems exhibited at several geographic locations throughout the company’s network. It is regarded within the additive manufacturing industry as the first office-friendly metal 3D printing system for rapid prototyping. The platform consists of a 3D printer, debinder and a sintering furnace, operating without hazardous powders, lasers or cutting tools.
Back in April, after a visit to Desktop Metal HQ, TCT Magazine Group Editor, Dan O’Connor covered the company and its metal 3D printing solutions in great detail. Click here for a look Behind the Scenes of Desktop Metal.
