EOS has expanded its collaboration with Link3D to centralise additive manufacturing workflows and identify opportunities in cost and product management control.
The companies began working together at the end of 2018 when EOS North America implemented Link3D’s Additive Manufacturing Execution System (MES) through a proof of concept trial. Nearly 12 months on, EOS is stepping up its integration of the software in order to track benchmark requests, scheduled jobs, machine set-up and post-production quality data in real time across its sites in Germany and the United States.
Link3D’s Additive MES software will be integrated with EOSCONNECT to help EOS customers better understand their additive workflows by visualising the entire process from order submission to delivery. The partners believe this will improve the overall customer experience, end-to-end transparency and reduce turnaround times, while helping them to meet regulatory requirements like AS9100 and ISO9001. Customers will also be able to take advantage of machine connectivity, implementing several machines across their factories, and carry out real-time job monitoring through a centralised production scheduling system.
Speaking at RAPID + TCT in May, EOS North America’s Cary Baur told TCT the partnership will extend to the analysis of builds, ‘routing the feedback from build failures, build successes and build times into the system so we can be more predictive into how we design and how we schedule our production.’
As the partnership between EOS and Link3D develops, the partners expect further improvements to be made, both of the users’ manufacturing workflows and of the technologies they provide.

It is EOS' second such partnership announced this week after revealing it has also aligned with AMFG yesterday.
