High-end additive manufacturing business, EOS are to integrate their EOSPrint software into Siemen’s NX to build on their recently announced end-to-end solution.
Joining Siemens' SLM Software Partner Programme, EOS will help to provide a quick and uninterrupted path from product idea to 3D-printed part. The resulting solution promises to be an important part of the Siemens overall additive manufacturing process.
EOSPrint’s integration into the NX, Siemen’s flagship solution for computer-aided design, manufacturing and engineering simulation, targets companies wanting to take advantage of additive manufacturing for parts engineered for performance and 3D-printed with consistent quality.
With this integration, users will work in one singe software system. As a result, process steps, from digital part design up to the AM part building process, are linked together to ensure a quicker, easier and more reliable performance.

The collaboration between EOS and Siemens signals a big leap towards the use of additive manufacturing for industrial serial production for both companies. It will enable design engineers to take full advantage of the additive manufacturing possibilities for industrial 3D printing on EOS machines by connecting previously separate software tools for part design, simulation, data preparation and build job transfer.
EOSPrint will plug into the NX environment, enabling design engineers to shape a product for additive manufacturing in a single software setting. This not only eliminates file conversions between different software solutions, but also significantly reduces the investment in time required to learn multiple tools. Concurrently, it enables an uninterrupted and associatively linked workflow in a consistent software environment. This will allow engineering changes to seamlessly update through the design-to-print preparation process, and the ability to transfer build jobs directly from NX to an EOS machine.
