Graphene 3D Lab and Ideum have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to lay the foundation for joint research, product development and marketing between the two companies.
The company, which specialises in Graphene-based composites for 3D printing will co-develop products that can be used as capacitive sensors to interface with Ideum’s large-scale smart-tables and walls product offering.
Graphene 3D will commence on-demand 3D printing of coasters, joysticks and styluses in Conductive Graphene Filament which can be used to interact with Ideum’s smart-tables.
Graphene 3D CEO Dr. Daniel Stolyarov commented, “Partnering with Ideum is the perfect opportunity for Graphene 3D to showcase its ability to address various market needs with rapid prototyping of functional objects. Using Conductive Graphene Filament, our team can manufacture an endless number of unique, custom objects which bring additional functionality to Ideum smart-tables for consumers.”
The agreement calls for both parties to collaborate on whitepapers for any research findings. All products from the partnership will be promoted through Ideum’s sales channels.
Ideum's CEO, Jim Spadaccini, added: “Our clients are always looking for new ways to interact with Ideum multitouch tables in a variety of different settings and markets. Conductive 3D printed objects of unique shapes can greatly extend the functionality of our touch tables as we can now assign a different purpose to each tangible object, giving users a much higher degree of control over their devices.”
Graphene 3D Lab is focussed on the development of functional 3D printed products that could not have been produced before. This new partnership leverages those ambitions to produce real-life products that provide a more hands on feel to creative work in a digital environment. Speaking with TCT recently, Graphene 3D Lab CEO and Co-founder, Elena Polyakova said “realistically you are adding a third dimension of electronics”.
